Abstract: An overview of the current energy market backdrop, looking at: historic performance of the sector relative to the broader market, current investor sentiment, public market valuations, M&A activity, and commodity price outlook. The presentation sets the stage for how our industry arrived at its current state by examining performance over the last decade, debates the merits of the new lens through which public investors are now valuing E&P companies, and finally offers some view of what may come next for upstream M&A.
