Oil markets grossly misjudged price vectors in the last half of 2018. Oil prices increased 18% from mid-August to early October based on an unfounded fear of under-supply. Many market experts anticipated $80 WTI prices by year-end 2018. In October through December, prices fell 44% based on fear of over-supply. Mr. Berman will speak about how comparative inventories, which correctly predicted the false oil price trends in August through October, can be used to provide a reliable calibration for U.S. oil prices.
Art Berman is a petroleum geologist with 40 years of oil and gas industry experience. He is an expert on U.S. shale plays, reserve estimation and economic evaluation.
